Law Firm Kirkland and Ellis Withdraws From Representing Pennsylvania Secretary of State After One of its Associates Threatened Trump Attorney

Trump campaign lawyer Linda Kerns

Law firm Kirkland & Ellis withdrew from representing Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar on Friday.

Trump’s lawyers have been harassed and threatened for the ‘crime’ of representing the President of the United States.

Last week the anti-American hacks at The Lincoln Project doxxed and harassed two of President Trump’s Pennsylvania lawyers prompting them to withdraw from a voter fraud case.

Last weekend one of President Trump’s lawyers had her life threatened after she filed a civil rights lawsuit to ensure a clean election in Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia lawyer Linda Kerns said in a Sunday night court filing that she was harassed and threatened by a lawyer working for Kirkland & Ellis.

“Since this case was filed, undersigned counsel has been subjected to continuous harassment in the form of abuse e-mails, phone calls, physical and economic threats, and even accusations of treason – all for representing the President of the United States’ campaign in this litigation,” wrote Kerns in her filing.

“On November 14, 2020 at 8:43 am, an attorney at Kirkland & Ellis left a one-minute voicemail for undersigned counsel. The voicemail, which has been provided to counsel of record from Kirkland & Ellis in this case and will be provided to the Court via email upon request, speaks for itself and by any measure falls afoul of standards of professional conduct.”

Kirkland & Ellis has now withdrawn from representing PA Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar.

“A Kirkland & Ellis associate engaged in behavior that could lead to disbarment for not only the associate, but several partners. K&E tried to play the, “It wasn’t our fault game,” but that’s now how the law works.” Attorney Mike Cernovich said.

The court still has done nothing in response to Trump campaign lawyers asking for sanctions.

WATCH: Man Caught Vandalizing His Own Car With Racist Messages (VIDEO)

Clifton Eutsey is an 18-year-old from Buffalo, New York who claimed his BMW was vandalized with racist and homophobic messages. The 18-year-old had the car for about a month until it was kept for evidence of the supposed ‘hate crime.’

Eutsey recalled the incident as, “I mean, I never thought that, like, I thought that was like stuff that happened in movies. Nobody do graffiti. It’s 2020. That don’t happen no more.”

Eutsey also said, “I stayed in this neighborhood over here my whole life. Like I always been over here. It’s a good neighborhood, like everyone knows.”

After his post went viral online, some questioned the incident and claimed Eutsey did it to his own car.

Eutsey responded, “Who does that to their own vehicle? Who does that? Nobody does that to their car. How are you going to get around if you mess up your car? How are you going to get around? Really? Thank you guys for helping me out, and I appreciate that a lot.”

Law enforcement investigators found that Eutsey secretly vandalized the car on his own and hoped to collect an insurance payout on damages.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said that the evidence was obtained by talking to witnesses and reviewing video.

A similar incident occurred when actor Jussie Smollett claimed he was victimized in an alleged hate crime incident.

U.S. company Hershey grabs cocoa stocks from exchange, avoids African price premium

November 20, 2020

NEW YORK/LONDON (Reuters) – U.S. chocolate maker Hershey Co <HSY.N> has positioned itself to receive a sizeable amount of cheap cocoa from futures exchange ICE, a move that highlights difficulties African producers are having to sell beans at a recently-agreed premium, traders said.

According to several market sources, Hershey moved to take delivery of thousands of cocoa lots before the December contract expires on Dec. 15. Dealers suggest volumes of up to 30,000 tonnes.

Hershey’s move happens in a moment when Ghana and Ivory Coast, the world’s top producers, are selling their first full crop under a new scheme that includes a price premium of $400 per tonne, created to help alleviate farmer poverty. The premium, known as LID, had vocal support from chocolate makers.

The African countries have struggled to sell their crop with the premium, in large part because the pandemic-induced recession slashed demand for non-staple foods like chocolate.

“The exchange right now is the cheapest place to buy cocoa,” said a U.S.-based broker, indicating Hershey’s move was justified by lower prices compared to the hefty African premiums.

Traders said Hershey asked and obtained an exemption from ICE to sharply exceed delivery limits. The exchange declined to comment.

“While we do not discuss details of our specific buying and hedging activities, we buy cocoa from a variety of suppliers and sources to meet our ongoing business needs,” Hershey said, adding that it has also bought cocoa from Ghana and Ivory Coast in deals that included the LID premium.

The two African countries reacted to the ICE trade, threatening to suspend cocoa companies’ sustainability schemes.

“An unprecedented delivery for a branded company that will push the continued problem of unsold LID premium cocoa back further,” said one European trader, adding that middlemen have made clear to the African countries that the premium has been hard to market.

Another European trader estimated that Ivory Coast and Ghana sales are 500,000 tonnes behind volumes seen at this time a year earlier.

Michigan Republicans, after meeting Trump, say no information to alter election outcome

November 20, 2020

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Michigan’s top Republican state legislative leaders said after meeting with President Donald Trump on Friday that they did not have any information that would change the outcome of the presidential election in the state, where Democrat Joe Biden defeated Republican Trump.

“We have not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan and as legislative leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors,” Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House of Representatives Speaker Lee Chatfield said in a joint statement.

Gov Cuomo Wins Emmy For "Masterful" COVID Press Conferences

Gov Cuomo Wins Emmy For “Masterful” COVID Press Conferences

Tyler Durden

Fri, 11/20/2020 – 18:40

Hollywood has never been afraid to shamelessly flaunt its allegiance to the Democratic Party, but handing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo an Emmy for his “masterful” COVID-19 press conferences seems like they’re going too far.

Cuomo was awarded the International Emmy Founders Award, which has previously been given to a diverse group of characters, including both Steven Spielberg and Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.

The Emmy’s announcement was accompanied by a Hollywood headshot of Cuomo with his 100-watt smile, a sign of a healthy and guilt-free conscience.

Cuomo’s daily press briefings, which ended back in the summer (though he has been holding briefings again with increasing frequency lately) were broadcast by the MSM – CNN, MSNBC, CBS News, NBC News – into the homes of millions of terrified Americans. Unsurprisingly, Cuomo spent most of the summertime lull polishing off a book called “American Crisis: Lessons in Leadership”.

Accepting the award might rub millions of New Yorkers struggling with mounting debts and dwindling savings, as the governor imposes new restrictions on non-essential business hours and public gatherings, while the city shutters schools for the more than 300k kids who were receiving in-person education.

Of course, Cuomo’s press conferences haven’t always gone smoothly for the governor. At one point, the New York Times was more focused on his “right-hand woman” Melissa DeRosa. And the other day, the governor got into it with a couple of reporters after trying to defend the clarity of the state’s new measures, only to be contradicted by NYC when school closures were announced minutes later.

Cuomo’s critics on the left and right knocked him over his shameless book-slinging, and now his Emmy win.

Will the Pulitzer people award Cuomo with an honorary Pulitzer as well?
