The Moderna coronavirus vaccine was recommended for emergency authorization by an FDA panel, following the FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine last week. CNN’s Brian Todd reports on how the two vaccines are different, and why experts say that shouldn’t matter.

Vaccine advisers to the US Food and Drug Administration voted easily and quickly to recommend that the agency give emergency use authorization to Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine — but not without a lengthy side discussion about whether volunteers in the clinical trial who got placebo shots should be offered the vaccine early.
Julian Assange reaching out to the State Department before someone else published unredacted cables in 2011 proves that US charges against him are baseless, WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson told RT.
“I can confirm that this is authentic,” Hrafnsson told RT from Reykjavik on Thursday, referring to the recording of Assange’s conversation with State Department lawyer Cliff Johnson, released by the conservative outlet Project Veritas earlier this week.
“This should have tremendous weight” when it comes to Assange’s extradition, the Icelandic investigative journalist added, as it amounts to “absolutely overwhelming evidence against the US case in its entirety.”
While the world public has only now heard the full recording, Hrafnsson revealed that it had been made available to the British courts in September, and should figure into the decision on whether to extradite Assange to the US.
The tape clearly shows that Assange warned Hillary Clinton’s State Department that a former WikiLeaks employee was preparing to release the unredacted US diplomatic cables, and offered to help them mitigate the potential fallout, but “that offer was ignored,” Hrafnsson told RT. The State Department never followed through on the conversation.
Even though WikiLeaks published the cables only after they were leaked on the US-based site Cryptome and a Pirate Bay torrent, Washington has blamed Assange for their release.
The WikiLeaks co-founder sought refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy in London in 2012, believing – correctly, as it would turn out – that vague Swedish allegations of sexual assault were a pretext to have him sent to the US.
After his asylum was revoked in April 2019, Assange was arrested and locked up in Belmarsh, a maximum-security prison in south London, where he is now facing a Covid-19 outbreak and freezing winter conditions. The US is seeking his extradition on charges of “conspiring to commit computer intrusion” with US Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning in 2010. If convicted, he faces up to 175 years in prison.
Attempts to “get clarity” on how the incoming Biden administration regarded Assange’s case have “not delivered anything,” Hrafnsson told RT. Assange’s lawyers have officially sought a pardon from US President Donald Trump.

ATLANTA – Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says that the Office of the Secretary of State will be partnering with the University of Georgia on a statewide review of signature match in the Peach State. Raffensperger says the partnership will ‘help instill confidence’ in Georgia’s absentee ballot system in future elections.
“We are confident that elections in Georgia are secure, reliable, and effective,” said Raffensperger. “Despite endless lawsuits and wild allegations from Washington, D.C. pundits, we have seen no actual evidence of widespread voter fraud, though we are investigating all credible reports. Nonetheless, we look forward to working with the University of Georgia on this signature match review to further instill confidence in Georgia’s voting systems.”
Secretary Raffensperger has asked researchers at the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs to conduct research, including a randomized signature match study of election materials handled at the county level in the November 3 Presidential contest. This work will also include research on processes used at the county level to perform signature-matching.
The work UGA will perform is a study of a sample of signed envelopes in each county from the presidential election. It is intended to be forward-looking, helping to inform and optimize election administration for future electoral contests in the State of Georgia.
The review is not expected to change the outcome of election results.

The media keeps telling us there was absolutely no fraud.
But we also know that President Trump was leading Joe Biden in Michigan alone by over 100,000 votes on election night when suddenly Biden received 150,000 votes in less than one minute at 6:31 in the morning.
In Wayne County, the election night counting of absentees was happening at the TCF Center, formerly known as Cobo Hall. This is the site where Detroit City Officials put cardboard over the windows to prevent the GOP from seeing in, where poll workers were militantly hostile to the GOP, and where hundreds of affidavits claim they witnessed voter fraud.
And until now, no one has bothered to review the video footage.
The video can settle for once and for all:
- How many people were in the TCF Center and is there any validity to the excuse that they were past “COVID capacity” – the excuse they used to exclude the Republicans from watching vote processing
- Why did so many Democrat poll workers bring in suitcases? Did they hide illegal ballots in them like their colleagues in Georgia?
- Were the machines networked? Can we see the modem and the wires networking the tabulating machines as described by Patrick Colbeck?
- Who brought in what at 3:30/4:00am, were they ballots as the Republicans have said they witnessed, or was it food/camera equipment as the media claimed? Shane Trejo and Jose Aliaga say it was ballots.
- Was there any security keeping people out of the building who did not have credentials to get in?
- Were there other unexplained ballot dumps past the 8:00PM deadline for ballots as several other witnesses have alleged?
- Was Nick, the co-owner of Dominion Voting Services, present on site, as Mellissa Carone has said?
- Were GOP Poll Challengers being ejected for making good-faith challenges or were they refusing to wear a mask?
Your Gateway Pundit has requested the TCF video.
The TCF Center tried to quote us over $22,000 for one day’s worth of video.
We have requested two hours of video.
We will get the video.
The Michigan Legislature also recently subpoenaed the video, but there is no word on whether they will make the materials they gather public, or how aggressively they will pursue the anticipated failure to comply by one of the most corrupt cities in America.
This evidence has the potential to blow up the claims of voter fraud in Michigan.
There has been a substantial period of time to cover their tracks, but since written affidavits make no impact on the media, witness video statements make little to no impact, perhaps the physical video evidence can corroborate the many witnesses and further establish the systemic voter fraud that took place in Detroit.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A debate is raging within the Trump administration over guidance the Treasury Department is seeking to publish to clarify a recent directive banning U.S. investors from buying shares of some top Chinese companies, people familiar with the matter said.
The State Department and the Department of Defense (DOD) are pushing back against the content of a “frequently asked questions” release that the Treasury Department has prepared to spell out the fine print of the White House’s November order, which has stirred anxiety on Wall Street, the two people said.
Starting in Nov. 2021, the directive bars U.S. investors from buying securities of Chinese companies that the Pentagon has designated as owned or controlled by the Chinese military.
So far, the Pentagon has added 35 companies including oil giant CNOOC and China’s top chipmaker SMIC, to the blacklist, which was mandated by a 1999 law that DOD did not comply with until this year.
Index providers have already begun shedding some of the designated companies from their indexes. However, questions remain over whether subsidiaries of the blacklisted companies will also be subject to the restrictions.
Kevin Wolfe, a trade lawyer at Akin Gump in Washington, D.C., said the scope of the Chinese companies covered by the order was a key unanswered question. “Are they going to go the road of what was listed or are they going to go the road of a traditional sanction and also apply it to affiliates?” he asked.
Defence, Treasury and State did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
One of the people familiar with the matter said that tensions between the agencies stem from the view that Treasury is seeking to water down the executive order. But a third source, a U.S. official, said “the Treasury Department’s guidance will be in line with the overall intent of the (executive order).”
Still, the debate highlights longstanding tensions between U.S. government agencies over policy towards China, with many national security-minded officials taking a tougher line than those seeking closer economic ties.
It was not immediately clear when the guidance would be published, nor prospects for the outcome of the debate. President-Elect Joe Biden, who takes office on Jan. 20, could take a different approach to the directive or even revoke it.
The Biden transition team has declined to comment on his plans regarding the order.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A new potential roadblock to a $900 billion coronavirus economic relief bill emerged in the U.S. Congress on Thursday as some Senate Republicans insisted on language ensuring that expiring Federal Reserve lending programs cannot be revived.
One Democratic aide criticized the move by Senator Pat Toomey, a Pennsylvania Republican, saying it would limit President-elect Joe Biden’s ability to respond to the heavy economic toll of the pandemic, which in addition to killing more than 300,000 Americans has thrown millions out of work.
“It would tie the hands of the Biden administration to use those tools if needed,” a senior House Democratic aide said.
Both parties were scrambling on Thursday to strike a deal on a new compromise aid package. They have set aside Democratic demands for a new funding stream for state and local governments and Republican demands that companies be shielded from coronavirus-related lawsuits.
But Toomey wants to ensure that the Fed and Treasury are stripped of the authority to restore pandemic lending facilities that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will allow to expire on Dec. 31, including the Main Street program for mid-size businesses and facilities for municipal bond issuers and corporate credit and asset backed securities.
Mnuchin is clawing back some $455 billion from the Fed facilities, which would be used to help pay for the new aid package for individuals and small businesses.
But the move limits the options for Biden’s Treasury secretary nominee Janet Yellen to backstop financial markets in the event of more turmoil, and his transition team called it “deeply irresponsible.”
Toomey told reporters his proposal will prevent the Treasury and Federal Reserve from making “carbon copies” of the loan programs to reconstitute them under new names.
“I think there is very broad support among Republican senators for this approach and it is very important to many of us,” Toomey said.
Senator Mike Crapo, the Republican chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, said he supported Toomey’s proposal because in COVID-19 legislation passed in March, “We made it very clear that the facility is terminated at the end of this year.”
Toomey, who would chair the banking panel next year if Republicans retain Senate seats in Georgia runoff elections on Jan. 5, said the Fed would still keep its non-pandemic emergency lending powers. The central bank and the Treasury would need to “come to Congress if they believe there is a specific need for any extraordinary programs,” he said.

Newsmax correspondent Emerald Robinson on Thursday reported Ratcliffe is refusing to sign off on the report until the intel officials include the damning information on China and its attempt to influence the 2020 election.
Emerald Robinson, “We’ve heard from sources that there is raw intelligence that is pretty damning and much more expansive on the efforts of China implemented in order to counter a possibility that there would be a Trump second term… The fact that Ratcliffe is waiting for that to be included is that there is a portion of the intelligence community that is refusing to sign off or to conduct a detrimental assessment of China and its efforts.
